At the beginning…

And Life is a road and I want to keep going
Love is a river I want to keep flowing
Life is a road now and forever
A Wonderful journey

I won’t post any “popular” songs here. Afterall, if you want the popular songs, you can just go onto iTunes and click the “Top Songs” button. I am just recommending a song which you might like to listen to if you like the “happy, flowing, can-dance-with-it” music. The first one is “At the beginning” from “Anastasia”. Anastasia’s the movie, not the singer. There’s a billion editions on iTunes, just choose one you like.

Second: Everytime we touch, Cascada

Your arms are my castle,
Your heart is my sky.
They wpe away tears,
That I cry.

The good and the bad times,
We’ve been through them all.
You make me rise,
When I fall!

Now that is a real dance song. And it sounds great too! Again, search it up on iTunes. There’s a Yanou’s Candlelight Edition which is slower, and great for music videos.

Then there is Amy Pearson’s Ready to Fly, 7’s “Olympic Song”. Nice.

There’s lots more songs. Why by Ayaka is nice if you like Japanese songs… but that’s all for now.

Microsoft updates Live Mesh – Still does nothing

According to an email sent out from Microsoft via Microsoft Connect labelled “Live Mesh Tech Preview: Version Update July 30, 2008″, Live Mesh’s version number has been updated.

Guess what it does: Well, everyone can access it now if they live in the USA, UK, Australia or New Zealand! (I’m glad they included Australia and New Zealand in there).

Also, you don’t need to wait for your application to be approved. Instant sign-up!

The bad news is there isn’t a Microsoft Connect group for those members.

I still think Live Mesh does nothing that we weren’t able to do one year ago though. FolderShare is free. It’s also run by Microsoft. It does exactly the same thing. Continue reading ‘Microsoft updates Live Mesh – Still does nothing’

Playstation 3 2.42 – Life with Playstation?

The 2.42 firmware for the Playstation 3 was just made available to Playstation 3 owners today.  According to the Playstation blog, this update ” improves the playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation format software.” Is that all?

Normally updates aren’t that… short. Where’s the full update notes?

Are you sure there isn’t something bundled with it? For example… Life with Playstation?

You know, the “Wii News and Weather” clone that they announced will be on Playstation 3s by the end of this month, July? Or will that be a separate download?

Only time will tell. Afterall, we don’t know yet, do we?

Dear Sony.

Some love for Australia please?

As some people know, Australia has a quota system for the internet. Within the month, a person on an internet plan may only download a specific amount of data before they are either charged extra, or capped to a slower speed for the rest of the month.

There is also a peak/offpeak system, where your quota is split into peak times and offpeak times. Your offpeak quota is usually bigger.

Well, I sent an email to Sony regarding if there was a way to schedule a download so you don’t waste all your peak quota and become capped. Here’s the question and the reply. Continue reading ‘Dear Sony.’

Random Tidbits

  1. Why do codecs, especially directshow codecs that WIndows Media Player and a whole lot of other players use, have to be so hard to install, maintain, remove, disable, enable and just “use”? I spend 1 whole day installing and uninstalling the K-Lite codec pack just to get my Matroska HD file to work via Tversity to stream to my Playstation 3. That’s just stupid. Oh yea, by the way, if you have any device that can stream movies to your TV via wifi but it has to be in a particular format, like the Playstation 3, then I recommend Tversity. It allows you to real-time send your videos, in their original formats, to be played in a format that the Playstation 3 supports! Find it at tversity.com.
  2. Mythbusters is back in the United States! More shark myths, space myths, ninja myths, whatever myths, coming soon! It apparently starts today. Finally after a long wait they’re coming up with something that continues with their previous mythbusting. How long have they had their holiday for?
  3. Optus, in Australia, actually don’t allow you to buy an iPhone 3G outright without a plan. I’m quite sure you can persuade them to sell you one if you join their post-paid network though. Now there’s a thought.
  4. Windows Live Photo Gallery is a rip-off of Windows Photo Gallery, and it works with Windows XP. Why bother upgrading to Vista when all the new programs can be found with “Windows Live” equivalents?
